Child custody matters can be affected by the time of year

On Behalf of | Jul 29, 2016 | Child Custody

Back to school season is almost here. That means that students will be heading back into the classrooms. For some students, their parents divorcing is making it difficult for them to know exactly where they will have to go to school. We know that you truly want what is best for your child. Thinking about how child custody matters affect your child’s school options is one point that is especially important if you are filing for divorce during the back to school season.

If you are thinking of filing for divorce and have children, you have to think about where you are going to live. Are you planning on staying in the same school district or will you have to move? If you won’t be in the same school district, have you thought about how it would affect your child if he or she lives with you and has to change schools?

Thinking about these factors now can help you to ensure that right now is the right time to file for divorce. We know that there are some instances in which waiting to file won’t be possible. We can help you to learn about the options that you have to get the divorce that you need and work through the child custody issues that are part of your case.

There might be some creative custody agreements that we can work out that could help you to get the child custody order that puts your child first. We can represent your side of the case to help you determine how to show that your way is the one that should be followed.
