Former principal accused of sex crimes in new trial

On Behalf of | May 18, 2016 | Sex Crimes

If you’re accused of sex crimes against minors, it’s important to defend yourself. You may find that once one allegation is made, others make more, even if they’re false. It’s vital that you have someone to help you manage this stressful time, so you can defend your good name and fight back against accusations.

Sometimes, if you’re convicted of a crime, more trials could be in your future. That’s what this formal principal is dealing with as another student has made allegations against him for sex crimes.

A former assistant principal has been charged with multiple underage sex crimes after initially being accused of having child pornography on his personal devices. According to the news, the 52-year-old man is serving an active prison sentence for possessing child pornography, but now there have been accusations of additional sex crimes that may have taken place between 1999 and 2000.

It was during that time that the man was a principal at the Hanover County school, and it’s been alleged that he had been indecent with a minor in October and November of 1999. It’s been claimed that he again committed sex crimes between January and February of 2000.

If the former principal is convicted, these claims could lead to up to five years in prison for each offense. He could be charged based on suggesting indecent acts or exposing himself to a minor. In the past, several hundred child pornography images were discovered on the man’s electronic devices, but it hasn’t been said if any of the claims are related to those images.
