Biography

Amy Weisberg is co-founder and partner of Weisberg & Weisberg, PLLC, a Newport News law firm she and her husband, Noah, established in 2008. From the firm’s inception, they have pursued a client‑centered model that combines exceptional legal representation with first‑class, personalized attention and hospitality. Ms. Weisberg’s practice is devoted exclusively to family law, and she handles matters across the full spectrum of the field, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, property division, child support, adoption, and post‑divorce enforcement. Amy has been practicing law exclusively in the field of domestic relations since 2003.

Originally from Florida, Ms. Weisberg graduated cum laude from Dickinson College with a double major in Sociology and Spanish and earned her law degree from Pennsylvania State University. She represents a diverse clientele—local business owners, physicians, fellow attorneys, Fortune 500 executives, and professional sports coaches—offering strategic legal analysis paired with practical, compassionate advocacy. Her approach emphasizes protecting client rights while seeking constructive resolutions that minimize unnecessary conflict and promote long‑term stability.

Ms. Weisberg is an active contributor to the local and statewide access‑to‑justice community, serving on the Hampton/Newport News Local Access to Justice Committee of the Virginia Access to Justice Commission. Locally, she has participated on advisory panels recommending guidelines and procedures to area courts to improve family law processes and outcomes. She is actively involved with the Newport News Bar Association and is a committee member of the Jazz4Justice initiative, which raises awareness and funds for Legal Aid and music scholarships by bringing together the legal community and Christopher Newport University’s jazz program. Through these roles, Ms. Weisberg works to expand community legal resources, improve court procedures, and enhance access to legal services for vulnerable populations.

A recognized leader in family law, Ms. Weisberg regularly teaches continuing legal education programs for both national and local audiences. Her professional honors and recognitions include selection as a Virginia Super Lawyer and Super Lawyers Rising Star, Best Lawyers in America, Coastal Virginia Magazine’s Top Lawyers in Family Law, Richmond Magazine’s Top Lawyers, and the Martindale‑Hubbell Client Distinction Award for Excellence in Practice. Many of these accolades are peer‑selected, reflecting recognition from colleagues across the legal community.

Ms. Weisberg has practiced extensively in all the courts of Hampton Roads, including Newport News, York County, Hampton, Williamsburg, Gloucester, Matthews County, Suffolk, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake.

Outside of her practice and community service, Ms. Weisberg lives in Suffolk with her husband and their two children. She is an enthusiast of the arts and design, an avid ice hockey fan, and enjoys playing tennis and skiing in her free time.
